it is absolutely amazing here. this picture doesn't do it justice - but the is the view i have right sitting with my laptop in jasmin's house in the bahamas. (nassau). this has been an incredible 24 hours.

jasmin picked me up from the airport and we drove to a restaurant ON the water, just in time for a beautiful sunset. we sat for nearly four hours, drinking beer and catching up, and i had the most delicious fish i've had in ages. grouper covered in roased almonds and lemon butter. superb. and a chocolate birthday cake with a candle that wouldn't light for the wind. it was a perfect birthday night.
and today we woke early with the sun streaming through the windows and sat at the table you can see in the picture, drinking lattes and listening to music. drove into town to wander through the touristy streets of the center, spent hours shopping for perfumes (she=channel, me=vera wang), had lunch at another restaurant on the water, this time mahi-mahi for me. and now are back napping for the afternoon because the sun is just a tad too hot to sit in. but we will head out to the beach shortly where we'll swim in the warm water and drink beers quickly from the bottle before they get too warm. can you imagine a more perfect day?
i want for absolutely nothing right now. and feel quite content. which is a nice feeling and makes a change from the tumultous weeks of late. she's made me an orange soda, i've got my book, and i'm about to kick my feet up and snooze for a few minutes before we drive to the shores.
why would anyone choose to live anywhere else but here? it's amazing.
